My Personal Angel Penny Story

This is my personal Angel penny story. My son Steve died on August 24, 2001. He was only 18 years old. After his death I felt, and sometimes still do, every overwhelming emotion a parent can feel when their best friend and child dies...

A few days after Steve's death when I felt like I could actually move again. I drove to the local convenience store feeling so numb, alone, and completely lost in grief. After purchasing the items I came to buy. I walked out of the convenience store, and looked on the ground by my car. I saw a penny, bent over to pick it up, and put the penny in my pocket. As I stood up and scanned the parking lot area, laying all over the parking lot were scattered pennies. As I walked around and picked up penny after penny. I ended up, literally, stuffing both pockets of my jeans completely full of pennies. I can't even begin to adequately describe the awesome wonder I felt as I picked up Angel penny after Angel penny. I drove home took the pennies out of my pocket and had almost six dollars in pennies that I had picked up from the convenience store parking lot. I never had before, nor have I since that day ever seen so many pennies laying on the ground of any parking lot. My Angel tossed some pennies from heaven just to cheer me up...

I found a penny today  lying on the ground.  But it's not just a penny,  this little coin I've found.

Found pennies come from heaven,
that's what my Grandpa told me.  He said Angels toss them down.  How I love that story.

He said when an Angel misses you,
they toss a penny down;  Sometimes just to cheer you up,  to make a smile out of your frown.

So, don't pass by that penny
when you're feeling blue.  It may be a penny from heaven  that an Angel's tossed to you.

"It is good to remember that the tea kettle, although up to its neck in hot water, continues to sing."

Pennies are such a comfort in times of sorrow.
